A pre delivery inspection of a MEWP is a thorough inspection which is carried out before the equipment is delivered to the customer. This can be before the machine is sold or hired.

During PDI inspections a trained engineer will typically:

- Check all components, mechanical, electrical and hydraulic

- Test functionality of the machine

- Inspect the safety features such as emergency stops, alarms, harness attachment points and guardrails

- Confirm that all user documentation, safety instructions and certifications are provided and up to date

- Make any necessary adjustments or repairs needed after the inspection

A PDI is crucial for ensuring that the MEWP is delivered in a good, safe working condition.
